Last night I hosted our first Pokémon Trading Card Game Tournament.
The event took place at The Fort and was completely sold out! The event was a big success and I collected some valuable feedback from my participants.
Overall I’m very proud of our progress. It’s been eight months since I started running events in Duncan. We have gone from nobody showing up, to regulars filling ten person tournaments and asking for more.

I’m also very flattered by how well received my custom sealed format was. The format consisted of forty card, pre-built base decks that I made myself using my own bulk, and bulk that was donated to me by Elite4 Games and Rob’s Go2Games.
Players were provided with four booster packs to customize their tournament decks with. Since I built ten unique base decks, my format offered the players more variety than the standard Build and Battle release.
After four Swiss, best of one rounds where players battled for four prize cards, the top players took home the majority of thirty-three booster packs.
If I can gather enough new bulk and time to build ten to twenty more unique base decks, I will consider running this format again.
Thanks to everyone for comin’ out!
